Project Overview
This Manalapan family wanted their backyard to feel like a vacation destination. With a pool already in place, they envisioned a deck that would serve as the hub for summer entertaining — complete with shade, lighting, and space for outdoor cooking.

Permits & Inspections
Manalapan Township requires permits for:
- Deck structure over 200 sq ft
- Electrical work
- Pergola as attached structure
All inspections passed on first visit.
Project Timeline
- Week 1: Footings, ledger, framing
- Week 2: Decking, stairs, railings
- Week 3: Pergola construction
- Week 4: Electrical, finishing, canopy
Result
The family now has a true outdoor living space. They hosted 40 people for a graduation party the first month — using every zone exactly as designed. The pergola provides just enough shade for afternoon comfort while still letting sunlight reach the pool.
Evening entertaining has become their favorite with the integrated lighting creating the perfect ambiance.
